Movies To See In 2018

Last year's movies to see was short and disappointing... I honestly don't know how I couldn't find more films coming out. So... must try harder. Here we go I'm going to go all out for this (if I can).

January


Arctic Justice - Puffin henchmen and an Arctic fox with a dream.

Blame - A taboo relationship leads to a vengeful chain of events.

The Commuter - A businessman is caught up in a criminal conspiracy during his daily commute home.

Early Man - An Aardman production where Early Man is about to be evicted, by a Bronze Age city.

Molly's Game - Done and dusted thanks to Cineworld's last Unlimited Screening of 2017.

February


★★  Black Panther - After the death of his father T'Challa returns home to take his place on the throne.

Den of Thieves - The elite unit of the LA County Sheriff's Department hunt the state's most successful bank robbery crew as they plan a seemingly impossible heist.

Every Day - A shy teenager falls for someone who transforms into another person every day.

(From the looks of it March will basically be a no go area for a social life.)

Acrimony - A faithful wife tired of standing by her devious husband is enraged when it becomes clear she has been betrayed.

Alpha - A story of survival set 20,000 years ago during the last Ice Age.

Death Wish - A mild-mannered father is transformed into a killing machine after his family is torn apart by a violent act.

The Meg - After escaping an attack by what he claims was by a 70-foot shark, Jonas Taylor must confront his fears to save those trapped in a sunken submersible.

Pacific Rim Uprising - Jake Pentecost, son of Stacker Pentecost, reunites with Mako Mori to lead a new generation of Jaeger pilots, including rival Lambert and 15-year-old hacker Amara, against a new Kaiju threat.

Peter Rabbit - Feature adaptation of Beatrix Potter's classic tale of a rebellious rabbit trying to sneak into a farmer's vegetable garden.

Proud Mary - A hitwoman's life is completely turned around when she meets a young boy whose path she crosses when a professional hit goes awry.

Ready Player One - When the creator of a virtual reality world called the OASIS dies, he releases a video in which he challenges all OASIS users to find his Easter Egg, which will give the finder his fortune. Wade Watts finds the first clue and starts a race for the Egg.

Red Sparrow - Ballerina Dominika Egorova is recruited to 'Sparrow School' a Russian intelligence service where she is forced to use her body as a weapon.

Tomb Raider - Lara Croft, the fiercely independent daughter of a missing adventurer, must push herself beyond her limits when she finds herself on the island where her father disappeared.

Winchester - Eccentric firearm heiress believes she is haunted by the souls of people killed by the Winchester repeating rifle.


A Wrinkle In Time - After the disappearance of her scientist father, three peculiar beings send Meg, her brother, and her friend to space in order to find him.

April


Action Point - A daredevil designs and operates his own theme park with his friends.

Blockers - Three parents try to stop their daughters from having sex on Prom night.

The Hurricane Heist - Thieves attempt a massive heist against the U.S. Treasury as a Category 5 hurricane approaches one of its Mint facilities.

The New Mutants - Five young mutants, just discovering their abilities while held in a secret facility against their will, fight to escape their past sins and save themselves.

Overboard - A spoiled, wealthy yacht owner is thrown overboard and becomes the target of revenge from his mistreated employee. A remake of the 1987 comedy.

Rampage - Based on the classic 1980s video game featuring apes and monsters destroying cities.

★★ Avengers: Infinity War - The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.


Sherlock Gnomes - Garden gnomes, Gnomeo & Juliet, recruit renown detective, Sherlock Gnomes, to investigate the mysterious disappearance of other garden ornaments.

Solo - Han Solo and Chewbacca's adventures before joining the Rebellion, including their early encounters with Lando Calrissian.

(You might as well write June off too, I'll be binge watching related movies before seeing this lot.)

Ant-Man And The Wasp - As Scott Lang balances being both a Super Hero and a father, Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym present an urgent new mission that finds the Ant-Man fighting alongside The Wasp to uncover secrets from their past.

★★  Deadpool 2 - No explanation needed here... Deadpool... See it.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - Dinosaurs... Chris Pratt... done with explanations.

Ocean's Eight - Debbie Ocean gathers a crew to attempt an impossible heist at New York City's yearly Met Gala.

Alita: Battle Angel - In the twenty-sixth century, a female cyborg is rescued from the scrap heap by a scientist.

Hotel Transylvania 3 -Mavis surprises Dracula with a family voyage on a luxury Monster Cruise Ship so he can take a vacation from providing everyone else's vacation at the hotel.

★★ The Incredibles 2 - It's been 14 years... there are two stars at the beginning there... we're all seeing it!


Mission: Impossible 6 - I'll let you in on a secret... it's not actually impossible.

Skyscraper - Hostage-action-thriller set in China.

The Spy Who Dumped Me - A pair of friends embark on an espionage adventure after one of them finds out her ex is a spy.

August


Barbie - A doll living in 'Barbieland' is expelled for not being perfect enough and sets off on an adventure in the real world. A Live-action feature film based on the popular line of Barbie toys.

Captive State - Set in a Chicago neighborhood nearly a decade after an occupation by an extra-terrestrial force, Captive State explores the lives on both sides of the conflict - the collaborators and dissidents.

The Equalizer 2 - A sequel to the the 2014 film... looks like he didn't equalise everything the first time!

The Happytime Murders - When the puppet cast of an '80s children's TV show begins to get murdered one by one, a disgraced LAPD detective-turned-private eye puppet takes on the case.

The Predator - A sequel to the 1987 sci-fi film.

Boy Erased - The son of a baptist preacher is forced to participate in a church-supported gay conversion program.

The Darkest Minds - After a disease kills 98% of America's children, the surviving 2% develop superpowers and are placed in internment camps. A 16-year-old girl escapes her camp and joins a group of other teens on the run from the government.

Night School - A group of troublemakers who are forced to attend night school in hopes that they'll pass the GED exam to finish high school.

Robin Hood - A gritty take on the classic Robin Hood story. Starring Taron Egerton as Robin Hood.

Goosebumps: Horrorland - More entertainment from Goosebumps and Jack Black.

Jungle Book - An orphaned boy is raised in the wild. Yet another version of this one.

Smallfoot - A Yeti is convinced that the elusive creatures known as "humans" really do exist.


Venom - Another offering from the Marvel catalogue of characters.

Fantastic Beasts 2: The Crimes Of Grindelwald - More of the same.

First Man - A look at the life of the astronaut, Neil Armstrong, and the legendary space mission that led him to become the first man to walk on the Moon on July 20, 1969.

Holmes And Watson - A humorous take on Arthur Conan Doyle's classic mysteries featuring Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson.

Widows - Set in contemporary Chicago, amidst a time of turmoil, four women with nothing in common except a debt left behind by their dead husbands' criminal activities take fate into their own hands and conspire to forge a future on their own terms.

Wreck-it Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks The Internet - 6 years after the events of "Wreck-It Ralph", Ralph and Vanellope, now friends, discover a wi-fi router in their arcade, leading them into a new adventure.

★★  X-Men Dark Phoenix - Jean Grey begins to develop incredible powers that corrupt and turn her into a Dark Phoenix. Now the X-Men will have to decide if the life of a team member is worth more than all the people living in the world.

★★  Aquaman - Arthur Curry learns that he is the heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, and must step forward to lead his people and to be a hero to the world.

Bohemian Rhapsody - A chronicle of the years leading up to Queen's legendary appearance at the Live Aid (1985) concert in 1985.

Bumblebee - On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie, on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken.

Mary Poppins Returns - In Depression-era London, a now-grown Jane and Michael Banks, along with Michael's three children, are visited by the enigmatic Mary Poppins following a personal loss. Through her unique magical skills, and with the aid of her friend Jack, she helps the family rediscover the joy and wonder missing in their lives.

Mortal Engines - Many years after the "Sixty Minute War," cities survive a now desolate Earth by moving around on giant wheels attacking and devouring smaller towns to replenish their resources.

As is always the case I would imagine there will be films that I've somehow never heard of popping out of nowhere, or I'll end up being bored and going to something random that initially didn't appeal enough to get on this list. But one thing is for sure... there are lots of things that are going to make next year epic.
