Easter Eggs

Not the chocolate kind I'm afraid! While on one of my frequent procrastination breaks I came across some fun bit of the internet. It just amazed me that people spend the time creating these little internet special features.

When I found a few I went searching for more and below are some of my favourites...

Vogue.co.uk - press the following > up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, hold A... release for a nice surprise. The same works on GQ.com but it's not as fun. Do it on Buzzfeed.com for some trauma!

Google search - "do a barrel roll"
Google images - "atari breakout"
Google search - "askew" or "tilt"
Google search - Six degrees of Kevin Bacon. Search for any actors name followed by "bacon number" and it'll show you how to connect them to Kevin Bacon.
Google search - "google in 1998". The first result will take you to a little gem.
Google search - "blink html"

Youtube - "do the harlem shake"
Youtube - Go to www.youtube.com/disco, type in an artists name and it will auto arrange a playlist.
Youtube - "use the force luke"
Youtube - "beam me up scotty"
Youtube - "doge meme"

All I can say is thank you to the patient little programmers who are putting their imaginations to creating these wonderful bits of the internet... it's such a shame that not everyone gets to see them.

Fox Investigates: A Whiff Of Mystery by Adam Frost

I had so much choice with this one, I got a digital proof from NetGalley and a physical copy from Stripes direct. I'm glad I did get both, because this is one of the times where print stomps all over digital, but we'll come to that in a bit. If we play judge a book by it's cover you get debonair fox in Venice solving crime, some sort of cross between James Bond and Sherlock Holmes... Actually, by the end of the book that wasn't far off what I thought of Wily, there's maybe just a hint of Inspector Clouseau. To the story... Wily Fox is hired to help protect the next big scent in the perfume world after the creator has a mysterious break in. Wily and his suspects attend the unveiling of Smellissino, but they are incapacitated when the beautiful smelling perfume is swapped for something much more pungent. So You've Seen Deadpool...

... and the superhero movie will never be the same again. Before seeing the movie I had never come across Deadpool. He was sneakily hiding behind the other characters flipping bunny ears and running away giggling. We of course saw Wade Wilson in the Wolverine origin film but in a more serious (yet still with a tinge of humour) role. He was no indication of what to expect. Created by Rob Liefeld and Fabian Nicieza, Wade Winston Wilson AKA Deadpool started life as a supervillain before the unstable mercenary became firmly set as everyone's favourite anti-hero. Name: Wade Winston Wilson [possibly?]. AKA: Deadpool, Merc with a Mouth. Alliances: Pretty much anyone.
